Sue Damment at Study Group has used her Do Something Different digital Platform to help her team to become more flexible in order to cope with changes in the business.
Sue Damment, Head of Creative Services at global education giant Study Group, has used a Do Something Different digital Platform to help her team to prepare for, and cope with, transformation in the business.
A choice of programmes
Sue chose six programmes from the Do Something Different Business Collection to create a Study Group Platform that features:
- Be More Emotional Intelligent
- Stress Less Living
- Innovate Now
- Happiness In Action
- Executive Presence
- Building Resilience
Individual choice and tailoring
Individuals choose any programme they think will help with their personal development. Each person in the team can do as many programmes as they like during the year. Each programme is tailored to the individual via an online profiling tool that ensures that the content targets the specific areas where the individual needs the most change.
Sue tells us:
“I did the Do Stress Less personal programme first and it made a complete difference to the way I usually do things. That made me realise how powerful this could be for my team, who work under constant pressure in a company that is also undergoing transformation.
“Three months in and the results have been fantastic. I’ve noticed that some people who tended to sit back now express opinions more and are showing more proactivity, either verbally or in what they are doing.
“Most importantly, I see that as a team we seem to be much more able to cope with everything that is going on in the business. People are finding different ways to do things and that is upping the creativity and lowering the stress.
“Finally, the very idea of Do Something Different has become a bit of a mantra. It’s encouraging all of us to challenge the norm and to be braver. I think because of that my people are enjoying work more, are more engaged and are more able to cope with the changes that are being imposed by the wider business.”
