Do Something Different was delighted to be invited to run a workshop for senior EMEIA Diversity & Inclusion Managers and Communications Managers at Ernst & Young in London.
The all-day workshop consisted of an introduction to the science behind Do Something Different from our Profs, Ben Fletcher and Karen Pine, with examples of how it can be applied to diversity & inclusion agendas. As you would expect, there were lots of do-ing exercises included.
The afternoon, presented by our business team, Ray Richards and Ant Bullock, looked more closely at how the online Do Something Different system works, and how it can be scaled across countries.
The day ended with a really constructive open discussion about how and where Do Something Different might help Ernst & Young to meet some of its diversity & inclusion and communication challenges.
Walking with purpose
A light-hearted exercise at the lunch break resulted in a few unusual finds. Delegates were asked to take a 10-minute walk and to bring back something free. Laure from France asked the local Starbucks to donate a cup, which they duly branded for us. Julia from E&Y in Germany came back with an empty beer bottle, noting that she got some very different looks wandering the streets of London with a bottle of beer. If it had been a competition, the winner would have to be Helene from Holland. She produced Lucky – one of the facility managers from the meeting centre as her free find.
