Help us test the Flex app

We are looking for people from all walks of life to help us test Flex, our app, by doing something different.

What we need

We’re getting reading to launch our app, Flex. It’s been 10 years in the making. It’s a wellbeing app focused on helping you develop your habits to change your behaviour.

You Flex by choosing a goal and then taking small steps to a life done differently. The app suggests what small steps you could try out and then encourages you to notice what happens as you build better habits.

It’s based on the science of behavioural flexibility aka behavioural diversity. Put simply: the more ways of behaving we have to choose from, the more we’re able to flex, and the better off we are.

And we don’t just mean testing the functionality (although that’s the first job) – we also want to hear what you think of our approach and most importantly what happens when you Flex. We need timely, specific feedback and brutally honest reflections about what is working and what could be improved.

We need help from smart, curious people who are up for stretching their comfort zone, doing something different, stepping into the unknown.

What’s in it for you?

If you are willing to download the beta version of the Flex app (available for Apple and Android devices), get set up and try out one of the Goals in our app (for example Sleep Better, Stress Less or Be More Active), we’re willing to reward you for your efforts. The rewards on offer for helping us test Flex are:

What you need to do

As part of our next wave of research we’ll be asking people to:

  • Download the live Flex app (available for Android and Apple phones) and talk us through how you find the process on a video call.
  • Try out the app for 2 weeks – which would involve taking a series of Small Steps on a regular basis (simple suggestions of different things you could do to unlock helpful habits).
  • An example of a Step might be “When faced with an invitation or request that you would normally say ‘no’ to, say ‘yes’. Only turn it down if it doesn’t feel safe. See where it takes you.”
  • Let us know about any bugs or glitches you find.
  • Answer a few questions from the team here about your experience of using Flex in a short follow up interview.

You are the right person to take part in this if …

  • You like the idea of working for a conscious business.
  • You “get it” – i.e. you recognise that to get something different you have to do something different.
  • You are at a stage in your life where you reckon your comfort zone could benefit from a little stretch.
  • You want to learn.
  • You like the idea of being paid to develop yourself.
  • You are interested in gaining experience in the health and wellbeing and/or digital health sector.
