Ben (C) Fletcher
Ben (C) Fletcher is Professor of Occupational and Health Psychology in the Psychology School at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK and is also a Professor of Fashion in the School of Applied Sciences, Istanbul Bilgi University in Turkey.
He is a Practitioner Occupational Psychologist, a Practitioner Health Psychologist and a Chartered Scientist and was made an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences in 2007.
After his doctorate in Experimental Psychology at Oxford University, he began his academic career with the Medical Research Council at Sheffield University. He became Dean of the University Business School in 1993 and was a Founder Member of the Centre for the Improvement of Management Performance in Bucharest, Romania set up in 1992. His research has won various accolades including a Literarae Prize in 2003, a 2008 National Award for knowledge transfer to the commercial world, and this also shortlisted for the Lord Stafford Awards, 2009.
Ben is the creator of FIT Science and of Do Something Different which are widely adopted and ground-breaking frameworks for personal and organisational development.
He has published extensively in academic journals on a wide range of topics from brain chemistry, behaviour change, through stress and health, to fashion adoption. Ben has written a number of books including Work Stress, Disease & Life Expectancy, Clergy Under Stress, (Inner) FITness & The FIT Corporation, and together with Professor Karen Pine, three books based on the Do Something Different approach, The No Diet Diet, Do Something Different Journal, Love Not Smoking and Flex:Do Something Different- using the other 9/10ths of your personality.
