What was I doing before Do Something Different?

The agency guy, working as creative lead on brand experience projects for commercial, arts and start-up companies worldwide. Sometimes collaborating on award-winning work for folks such as V&A, Tate, Metropolitan Museum New York, Porsche, Prudential, Sony, MoMA, Rolls-Royce, British Museum, Arts Council, BFI and a few others.

Why did I join?

Design is universal and for everyone. It has the ability to reframe what we know and allow us to look at things in a new way. I want to use creativity in a purposeful way and to be part of something that can improve the lives of all of us. I’m part of Do Something Different because I believe it makes change happen. It’s a good way to live and work.

What do I do?

I’m designing for everyone and designing for change. My role is constantly shifting, and that’s what I love about it. I guess creativity and ideas are the thread that ties my role together. Sometimes it’s a workshop; short bursts to get us all co-creating, sometimes it’s designing a simple message from a complex problem. I keep looking, listening and collaborating to create delightful experiences.

What do I most want to change in the world?

We should learn to embrace and question technology in equal measure. I’d like us to rebalance our relationship and time spent with it, to behave better and healthier together. To learn to switch off and break bad habits, go off-grid sometimes and let fate take its course.

What do I most want to change about me?

See above. Sometimes I create an unhealthy momentum and pace of life. I’d like to switch off more, put the device in the box, be spontaneous, and switch it back on when the time is right.

What am I doing differently?

I’m becoming much more conscious of my abilities and limitations and how to balance things better. I’ve got little set of activities (Do’s if you like) that can snap me out of an overwhelming moment and help me do things better.
